Training Tip Tuesday - Keep Your Saddle In The Center
To keep your saddle balanced and in the center you must become a stirrup snob. Really, it is ok to fuss with your stirrup length until they feel ohh soooo PERFECT. Sometimes we have to drill extra holes in a student’s stirrup leathers to make them just right. Most of us are a little “crooked” to begin with. Ask all the chiropractors, they will tell you how many of us have one leg shorter than the other. If your stirrups are on the same number and they still don’t feel even, the imbalance of this difference will cause you to lean toward the longer stirrup. The tale sign is when you are always having to step down into the shorter stirrup to put the saddle horn back to center.
